Starring: Tom Hanks, Tom Sizemore, Matt Damon. Directed by: Steven Spielberg.
A movie like this is why film was created. An excellent story, an excellent cast, and excellent direction make this one of the decade's greatest movies. The movie is about a group of soldiers who are assigned the task of finding one soldier, Private Ryan, and get him out of WWII because the rest of his brothers were killed in action. The movie opens with one of the most intense sequences ever caught on film. The sheer realism of the violence is defintely not for the weak stomached. Most of the movie follows the group led by Tom Hanks, and the trials they face. Questions of the mission's reasonableness arise, especially when members of the group are sacrificed. The acting in this movie is superb. The movie is practically screaming "OSCAR!". Spielberg should be commended for his AMAZING directing. |
